Dew Tour

The 2010 DEW Tour Finals were held at the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ronnie Faisst and Twitch both were competing in the DEW Tour’s FMX Best Whip contest.

Twitch, Faisst, Myles Richmond, Destin Cantrell, Lance Coury, and Jarryd McNeil all geared up for the competition and battle it out for the $7,000 purse.

Twitch

Both Faisst and Twitch unloaded their bag of tricks for all the DEW Tour fans giving them a taste of the Metal Mulisha . Faisst threw down some insane lookback whips and solid backflip tricks. Twitch was right behind Faisst making a huge entrance cranking out some heavy whips, huge Nac-Nacs, and Indian Airs!

Faisst

Mulisha BMX rider Brandon Dosch competed in BMX Park and BMX Dirt. Brandon finished BMX Park in 9th place but that did not hold him back in BMX Dirt as he came in with a second place lead.

Brandon Dosch

Dosch packed each run with huge tricks; including a triple whip, opposite 360 lookback, and a corked 720 to steadily increase his lead over the rest of the competition.

Brandon Dosch

Brandon’s win, followed by his pair of second place finishes at other stops during the 2010 Dew Tour season, allowed Dosch to jump to the top of the year long standings. Earning his first Dew Cup Win of his career.

Brandon Dosch

I was coming in here in second place, and I wanted to take what was mine, and that was the Dew Cup. This means everything to me.

Brandon finished up with a high score of 92.62 beating out TJ Ellis, Anthony Napolitan, Gary Young, and the rest of the BMX Dirt line up. Congratulations Brandon, for your first DEW TOUR WIN, and closing out the season with some Mulisha Style! Check out more of the DEW Tour Photogallery here!

Last weekend Twitch, Deegan & Ox invaded Surprise, AZ to lay down some laps and cause mayhem at the Lucas Oil Off Road Series. Long time friend and rally racer Tanner Foust joined in on the fun under the Metal Mulisha command post riding with Ox and Twitch in the Super Lites class. On Friday during practice Twitch started off the weekend with a blown motor. Working through the night the crew was able to put in a new motor and get Twitch back on the dirt. During Saturday’s qualifying rounds Twitch lost 3rd gear and ended up qualifying in 11th position. Tanner Foust qualified an impressive 3rd place on Saturday and Ox despite a gnarly rollover in Turn 1, qualified right behind Tanner locking down a 4th place position.

During the Super Lite main event Tanner received a black flag and was put out of the race. Twitch led the pack locking down a 3rd place position just short of 2nd place, while Ox finished an impressive 4th place. Deegan got off to a great start on Saturday qualifying in 1st position, but that was short lived when his truck broke down during Saturday’s main putting him out of the race.

Back on track Sunday Deegan, Twitch, Ox and Tanner could taste victory. During Sunday’s Pro Lite main event, a pissed off Deegan started the race in 8th position. Moving aggressively through the pack, Deegan managed to make his way up to a contending position. Battling for 1st place, Deegan put it all on the line and ended up locking down a 1st place podium! Sunday’s Super Lite race kept fans on the edge of their seats. At the start of the race Ox took the early lead ahead of Twitch and Tanner. Coming from behind, Twitch worked his way passed Ox to lead the pack the remainder of the race taking home a 1st place finish. Ox, had some complications with his truck causing him to get pushed to the back of the pack to finish in a disappointing 10th place. During the race while fighting for 3rd place, Tanner suffered a suspension component failure in the whoop section causing him to pull off the track early. At the end of all the mayhem and carnage, the Mulisha walked away with 3 podium finishes and a kick ass video!

Dew Tour Utah

Freestyle Motocross was back in competition form in Salt Lake City for the fourth stop of the Alli Sports Dew Tour. This was the first time in nearly two years that there has been an actual competition instead of the demo format that was used throughout 2009. Needless to say, everyone was fired up and hungry to compete in front of a pack house in downtown Salt Lake City on a Saturday night.

Jeremy Stenberg, Todd Potter, Ronnie Faisst, Taka Higashino

The competition was a head-to-head format, with the winner moving onto the next round. Twitch and Faisst were pre-qualified for the event based off of 2008 point standings and a wild card spot. Twitch, Potter, Taka, and Adelberg all eliminated their opponent in the first round, allowing them to advance to the second round.

Jeremy Twitch Stenberg

Taka Higashino

In round 2, Potter and Twitch did battle to see who would move onto the quarter finals. Both had solid runs with big flip combos, but Twitch just edged out Potter to advance on. Adelberg had a scary get off in his run when he hit neutral as he was approaching the dirt double out of the double double section.

Robbie Adelberg

He was unable to slow down in time and had to eject off of his bike. He was carted off with broken tibia and fibula in both legs, a heel, and ankle. Get well soon Adelberg.

The quarter finals featured a battle of master vs. student with Twitch going head-to-head with his good friend and import, Taka. Twitch put in a competitive run with a big flip whip, flip no hander, and a unique transfer line into the double doube section that no one was doing. It was a strong run, but just not enough to take down Taka, who right now is riding the best he ever has.

Ronnie Faisst

Faisst nearly had the same crash as Adelberg in his quarter final run, but luckily was able to carve the lip and stay on his bike to flat. These guys make it look easy out there but it sure isn’t!

Taka Higashino

Taka went up against Mike Mason in the finals to decide who would be crowned the Salt Lake City Dew Tour Champion. Taka had to go first since Mason was already prequalified. This didn’t phase him one bit and came out swinging. Taka unloaded an arsenal of flip combos, such as perfectly extended Cordova, Indian Air, and his X Games bronze-medal winning Double Grab Indian Air flip. Mason gave it his all with a run including a big Hart Attack Flip, huge flip whip, and stylish No-handed Superman, but it wouldn’t be enough to take down Taka.

Taka Higashino

Congratulations to Taka for winning the Salt Lake City Dew Tour.

In BMX Dirt Finals, Brandon Dosch rode to a second place finish behind Dennis Enarson while making up valuable points on series leader, Brett Banasiewicz. Dosch had three consistent runs filled with 360 tail whips, opposite 360’s, and shocked everyone by landing a Decade 360 off of the last set in his final run.

Brandon Dosch

Brandon now sits just 30 points out of first place in the Dew Cup rankings with just one more stop to go. Way to go, Brandon!

The 8th annual ASA Championship was held at the L.A. County fairgrounds in Pomona, California. Twitch, Adelberg, and Taka all showed up early to get in a solid practice and check out the course. Potter fell into the ranks and got in two practices before the competition as a result of Javier Villegas who over rotated a 55ft superkicker and broke his wrist. In the first round of the ASA competition, Levi Sherwood throttled up the course double-double and accidentally shifted his bike into neutral, taking on a heavy crash, dislocating his wrist, and broke his femur. His injury permitted Todd Potter to advance to the finals.
