Over this weekend Metal Mulisha geared up and head on out to Glen Helen for some Lucas Oil Offroad Racing! Pulling up the event was a mad house, and with a entry line that was not moving anywhere, only gave away the answer that LOORSsold out! Deegan and Twitch put on their usual kick ass race killing it and hopping up on the podium.
This time Jeff “Ox” Kargola went in for some weekend racing along with Todd Potter racing Saturday night and our Aussi X Games Best Trick Gold Winner, Cam Sinclair!
“It was all time! Battled my way from last to 2nd, then smashed w/ twitchy forever, could have knifed in on him a few times but played nice. Bobbled on the 2nd to last turn on last lap going for the win, twitch messed up and caused me to mess up, got passed and salvaged a 3rd. Pretty happy minus knowing I could have done better! All… good though, so much fun battling and smashing w/ twitchy! M/M yeewwwww! ” – Jeff “Ox” Kargola
Deegan geared up for the Pro Lite Unlimited! Deegan grabbed the lead on lap two with a 49.889 battling it out with Chris Brandt and Marty Hart!
Brian has his bumper brushing up against the only truck to his front trying to make his pass and on the first course turn, Brian did some crazy 50′50 dirt wall grind with the bottom of his truck, pulled it and still held up for the second place podium win!

Well, not much to say about Best Whip. You all saw it. 52% of you texted in to vote for Todd Potter. And for good reason…Potter cracked the whip on everyone for the win! With his traditional upside down whips, the 180 degree turndown whips, and the ass end down anti whip, Potter had every whip style covered and hucked them bigger than anyone else. Congrats Potter!
Twitch and Josh Grant were going huge too! Twitch came back from his dislocated ankle he got on Thursday during the FMX elimination round, and scored a Bronze medal in best whip!
We had Todd Potter and Jeff Ox Kargola representing the Mulisha in step up this year. Deegan was supposed to ride in step up, but he wanted to be fresh for Rally and Speed & Style later on in the week so he gave up his spot, and Ox was lucky enough to fill the spot as 1st alternate.
In practice Ox was airing it out bigger than anyone. Everyone was picking him for the win…even Twitch as you’ll see in the video below. Potter was doing good in practice but you could tell he was holding a little back for the finals.
Come the step up finals, Ox was clearing the bar by a lot! Maybe too much, because he crashed twice in a row after clearing the bar. Unfortunately, if you crash even when you clear the bar it doesn’t count, so Ox was out.
Potter stepped up his game in the final and made it to the top 3 before hitting the bar. I’m not sure if he got a medal for that…I think they just give Gold. Anyway, congrats to Buyten on the win, and congrats Potter on 3rd place, or bronze, or whatever the hell you got.
The Metal Mulisha team is ready for tomorrow’s X Games 16 and will take center stage in the L.A. Coliseum. Taka has been focusing all this time studying the course making sure tomorrows run is everything he has been looking forward to.
Along with Taka, Jacko is out there hitting the ramp as much as possible for his run tomorrow in Freestyle.
OX was officially accepted and slotted as a alternate in both Step Up and Freestyle so he did some last minute maintenance and made his appearance this morning putting on a early show for the rest of the riders!
Josh Grant was hauling ass today out on the track, and was looking really good on every section while his bike was pinned out full throttle! Get ready for Grant to tear it up when he goes head to head with the rest of the riders for the Gold Medal!

Ford and the Metal Mulisha want you to own a new 2011 Ford Fiesta. We are building a one-of-a-kind Fiesta that could be yours. If Cam Sinclair, Taka Higashino or Jackson Strong win Gold in best trick one lucky fan is driving the Fiesta home.
Get over to the Ford display at the X Games 16 X-Fest Village and register to be partnered with one of the riders. Each rider will have one winning fan accompany them to the event…and if they win gold…the fan goes home with the Fiesta! Preferred method of entry is text to win. Winners will be selected at random Friday at 3 p.m. to attend that night’s Best Trick event and 3 p.m. on Saturday for Rally.
Autograph signings at the ford tent are as follows:
-Thursday 1-2pm at the LA Coliseum
-Friday 12-1pm at Staples center
Jay Schweitzer is continuing his tradition filming the all new On the Pipe 6 film which will release October 2010. The whole Metal Mulisha crew showed up at the Compound to ride. Hagy, Faisst, Twitch, Deegan, Taka, Fitzpatrick, Garland and so many more all wanted to have a spot in this new film!
The Metal Mulisha Compound was going off, like a outdoors X Games/Nuclear Cowboyz on steroids. Scummy and Maddo were hitting the 160ft jump while the mob of riders head out to Deegan’s Natural Terrain Park from the Compound.
Twitch and Potter took a couple shots at the 160 footer and throttled up some speed, both backflipping the massive dirt hit!
Taka and the rest of the boys starting getting pumped up and went trick for trick all trying to out-do each other for bragging rights. Jay was up in the chopper with his crazy to expensive “Red” camera capturing this epic riding session all on film.
The wind started to pickup after a few hours of riding, but with everyone’s adrenaline pumping they head over to Deegan’s freestyle park to finish off the day. Potter who will be completing in this years X Games “Best Whip” competition once again was throwing down some ridiculous text book whips!
The day went will for the first filming of the Mulisha crew and Jay was stoked to add this footage to his film On The Pipe 6!
Check out some of Jays camera equipment and check out some of the photos from the riding session.
