Before the Star Valli Yamaha Rockstar Metal Mulisha Team went out to A2, they finished up at the Yamaha Test Track and had a huge signing at OC Yamaha Friday night! Deegan, Potter, and Danger Boy made it out to say what’s up to the team and signed some autographs.

Saturday night was round five of Monster Energy Supercross held at Anaheim Stadium, with a once again packed house of Supercross fans!

The team was ready to battle and put on a impressive night of racing focused and determined to make it on the pole. GoPro mounted their new GoPro HD cam on Nico Izzi’s helmet and sent over this practice lap video of the track.

In the 250 Lites Qualifier, Nico Izzi and Ryan Sipes were both on top, with Nico finishing 1st and Sipes in 2nd.

During the 250 Lites Heat 1, Sipes moved into 2nd place on his 3rd lap and was looking really good out on the track! Sipes was chasing down Wilson, but ran out of time finishing in 2nd place.

In the 250 Lites Heat 2, Izzi pulled away from the pack with Musquin and Tomac right in front of him while Izzi held off Seely holding his 3rd place position. On the last lap, Seely moved in on Izzi, pushing him into 4th place as they crossed the finish line.

The bikes lined up and it was time for the 15-lap main event in the 250 Lites. Izzi had a great start and pushed his way up front while sitting in 4th place the first few laps. Teammate Ryan Sipes, passed Izzi, but shortly after went down as Izzi finished 5th while Sipes took 11th.

We hope and wish for a fast recovery for Austin Stroupe and Ryan Morais who both went down during previous races. Stroupe crashed hard enough in Phoenix, that he knocked himself out, and although his condition has been steadily improving, he did not race in Oakland or this weekend at A2. Ryan Morais will be back on the bike in time for the 2012 outdoor season. He suffered a broken jaw, several fractured vertebrae, collapsed lung, concussion and broken ribs. It is a amazing recovery for both these riders and we cannot wait to see you back on two wheels!

Metal Mulisha

Metal Mulisha will revisit its roots in Supercross and Motocross with an agreement to become the official casual sponsor for the Valli-Star Supercross/Motocross team.

Metal Mulisha

As part of the agreement, the team will be seen with the Metal Mulisha logo on their helmets, jerseys and bikes. Led by top riders such as Ryan Sipes, Kyle Cunningham, Austin Stroupe, Gareth Swanepohl, Nico Izzi, Ryan Morais and Kyle Peters, the team will be competing at all 2012 events on the AMA Supercross and Motocross tours.

Metal Mulisha

Led by “The General” Brian Deegan, Mulisha recently held the team introduction at the Yamaha test track located in Corona, CA.

I’m pumped about getting back into Supercross and Moto racing with the Valli-Star team,” said Metal Mulisha’s Brian Deegan. “We’re joining forces with a great team that knows how to win, so it will be cool to see them wearing Mulisha on the podium next year.”

Mulisha has a strong background in both Motocross and Supercross, with founder Brian Deegan starting his career in Supercross at the age of 17, before helping to usher in Freestyle Motocross during the late 1990s. At the LA Coliseum In 1997, Deegan famously won the Supercross Lites race and in true rebel style, ghost rode his bike across the finish line. Many other Mulisha riders, such as Ronnie Faisst and Cam Sinclair, began racing in Supercross early in their careers. Earlier this year, Mulisha expanded into the amateur ranks of Supercross and Motocross with the signing of young rider, Andrew Pierce, who debuted with Mulisha by winning four championships at the Mini Olympics.

The AMA Supercross season will kick off January 7th from Anaheim, CA, while the AMA Motocross season begins in May. For more information, visit http://www.supercrossonline.com and http://www.allisports.com/motocross.

Round 6 of the AMA Outdoors Professional Motocross, took place at Red Bud’s MX in Michigan over the weekend. Metal Mulisha’s Josh Grant is still recovering from his knee injury and went into the first moto up against Jake Weimer, Davi Millsaps, Reed and many more. Grant proved to the other riders and spectators that he has pure dedication and commitment to finish off the race and make it onto the podium. After fighting through the pain and having his mind set on the finish, Grant finished off in the top 10 with a 7th place finish in his first moto.

In the second moto the weather was a bit overcast as the 450 riders lined up for their final race. Into lap one the running order was Villopoto, Dungey, Alessi, Reed, Brett Metcalfe, Josh Grant, Davi Millsaps, Justin Brayton, Andrew Short, and Kevin Windham holding the top ten. Grant was on point trying to make his move around Brett Metcalfe for 5th and on the last lap Grant in 6th place had to pull off for reasons currently unknown. Grant put up a great race and will continue to make his move up to the podium for some of the upcoming races.

Josh Grant

Following further medical consultation, Josh Grant underwent additional surgery to his right knee today to repair his Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL), the result of an injury he sustained at round two in the Supercross series in Phoenix. With the full support of the Metal Mulisha & American Honda Racing team, Josh is expected to make a full recovery and it’s anticipated he will make a return to racing early in the summer. Get well soon Grant, can’t wait to see you out on the track again!

Kade

At only 21 years of age Kade Mosig is one of the most accomplished young Motocross/Supercross racers in Australia. Not only has this Aussie Metal Mulisha rider won four National Motocross Championships, he has also placed second in four other Championships and has been named Victorian State Motocross Champion an incredible eight times! In short words Kade is bad ass, rips, and hungry for more Championship medals for his display case. We caught up with Kade practicing at Pala Raceway this morning to get the latest on what he is up to.

Kade Mosig
What’s going on Kade? Pretty far from Australia aren’t you? Aye pretty far haha, I just came down to Pala this morning to get in some laps out here in the Southern California. Just trying to get some practice in for the Australian Super X, which starts in October. So ya just out here doing some serious training because back home it is super wet right now.
So we heard you got yourself a bike? Sure did just signed with Factory Honda back home and got myself a new Honda CRF250. I am super pumped with that and hopefully I have a really good Supercross season and everything goes as planed.

Have you made it out to the Mulisha Compound yet?
Uh ya, I have been out to the Compound, haven’t had to chance to ride it yet. Hopefully I can go back and ride Deegan’s Supercross track, it looks really good.

Anywhere else you have been?
Ya I went out to Parris Raceway and a few other tracks but ya I will be here for another three weeks so hopefully get out to some more Supercross tracks, go out to the Honda test track, do some more testing and get my bike ready to go.

Kade

How are you feeling on the track right now?
I feel pretty good ya know. I am still seven weeks out from the first round so everything is going as planned. I got my trainer back home who is sending me stuff to do while I am here then I will go back train my butt off for another five weeks before the first round. Everything will go good.

KadeWhat is a day of training like with you?
Man well I get up fresh in the morning and try and ride and try to get as many laps as I can. I will go see my trainer, go for a run, cycle, swimming and all that stuff it is pretty standard for motocross or Supercross to have your fitness up 100%. My training kicks my butt so it is handy when I need it because it pushes me that little bit extra.

How do you like this California weather?
Today is really hot but back home it is like 5ºC (41ºF) and raining everyday back home, so it is a little different. I don’t mind the heat it’s good to train in these conditions and also the harder the better for me when I go back home and take it to the track.

Kade

Just go give you an idea of how bad ass Kade is, here is video of Kade on his last ride with Suzuki. Just wait until he gets on his Honda during this years Championship! Thank you to Casey McPerry for all these sick photos at Pala!

It is official; Josh Grant joins the Metal Mulisha Family! JG has been on the program for a while, but conflicting sponsors didn’t allow him to rock M/M at races. Now he’s officially dialed in and you will see JG kicking ass while rocking M/M at Supercross!

Grant came down to MM HQ yesterday and was pumped to officially seal the deal after being released from the hospital. He was warming up during a practice session on Tuesday, killing the track times and blasting through the whoops, but unfortunately had a huge crash in the whoops! Luckily Grant is a tough SOB and will do all he can to ride at A1! Check out his video interview…

If you happened to catch the Speed Channel broadcast of the St. Louis Supercross, you saw how insane the track was. Pastrana was the celebrity course designer and it showed…the track looked like one from MX Unleashed! Josh Grant killed it all day long. He was a 3rd fastest in timed qualifying and placed 3rd in his heat. Josh grabbed the holeshot in the main event and took off. The only riders to pass him were Reed and Stewart. Congratulations Josh on your 3rd place finish in St. Louis!
