The 100-foot gap was the crux of the competition Sunday night during the X Games Snowmobile Best Trick final with Metal Mulisha’s Daniel Bodin. Bodin’s seat grab Indian air backflip set the bar scoring a 92.33 in the Best Trick final claiming him the 2013 Winter X Games gold medalist! Bodin who captured event gold in 2011 was just grateful to have recovered from an serious injury last year that nearly ended his career.
“This is unreal! I broke my neck last year, and I wasn’t sure if I would ever ride again. Just to be back here and to get that gold again is unbelievable. I’m just so happy right now.” – Daniel Bodin
Congrats Bodin on your 2013 Winter X Games Snowmobile Best Trick gold medal!
Tonight was huge night for Jacko! He fired up his Rockstar Energy Drink Metal Mulisha Snowmobile ready to take on the challenge and in his words “just go for it“. With only two attempts at stake and with the world watching, Jacko went out on his first run and almost pulled off “The Jack” coming short of the seat causing a mid-air bailout. His snowmobile barley missed landing on him and took off with a stuck throttle charging towards the X Games staff in pits.
Jacko and Deegan hit the pits wrenching on the sled before his final run. With only one more attempt to claim a X Games medal, Jacko pumped up the crowed and did exactly what he said he was going to do… “just go for it”. Right off the ramp everything was looking perfect, “The Jack” was complete but with his snowmobile nose high coming into the landing; unfortunately bounced him right off.
Jacko believes that challenging himself, and pushing himself to new limits is what makes a great competitor, and what his life is all about. Congrats Jacko for all your hard work towards this X Games challenge and a big congratulations to Daniel Bodin for taking the gold!
