The Nuclear Cowboyz tour is back, ready to take on 2012! This year’s show set in the year 2150, pits the Metal Mulisha, Soldiers of Havoc, and Nuclear Cowgirlz against an evil force known as the Tempest and a Cyborg Army. Featuring the best freestyle motocross riders in the world, Metal Mulisha FMX rider Ronnie Faisst will step-up and be the leader another year with his teammate’s Wes Agee, Nixey Danielson, Jimmy Fitzpatrick, Rob Adelberg & Derek Garland.
Over the weekend the tour kicked off in Baltimore MD! The Mulisha team unleashed some nasty tricks and went as big as possible to get the crowed pumped showing the first timers what Nuclear Cowboyz is all about!
“We’ve got fire, girls, acrobats, quads, snowmobiles and some serious FMX action. We’ve got a little bit of everything to keep everybody stoked.” – Wes Agee
The boys are gearing up for the next stop near a town by you so make sure to check the tour schedule. If you have seen the show before, this year is even better and if this is your first time, do not miss out!
On Sunday, Metal Mulisha rider Derek Garland will take off on the Rock And Roll Marathon in Las Vegas! This 26.2 mile run will be the first for any FMX rider to take on the challenge! When Garland is off his bike, he is calculating an average of 40 miles a week.
“At first, it wasn’t so much the physical aspect as it was the mental. Thinking that I had to run 20 miles on the weekends seemed hard, but after doing it and looking back, it was more mental than anything.” – Derek Garland.
Garland had a prior commitment with life long friend and Mulisha family member Jeff Ox Kargola whose life was lost in a tragic accident earlier this year in Mexico. “I told Jeff I was going to run a marathon, so for me, it’s a way to finish something I said I was going to do. I can dedicate the marathon to him because I know he’ll be looking down and smiling on me.” We can’t wait to see the final result and good luck with your run this weekend! After Sunday’s race, Garland will be featured in the March issue of Runner’s World magazine! Congrats Garland and we wish you the best!
