OHH HOLY FRINGE!!! Why are you so bad a$$!?
In case you haven’t noticed, FRINGE seems to be taking over the Fashion World…and I think it’s about fricking time! I can’t quite figure out why a plethora of dangling strings is just so alluring, but why question something that makes you look so darn GOOOOD!
I’m dying to design a MM purse with some fringe radness on it, but my boss isn’t so sure the MM chic will dig it…but what’s not to dig? When you slip that bag over your shoulder and the feeling of black leather and chain fringe glide across your skin you can’t help but feel automatically SEXY, and let’s face it… SEXY = the MM Girl!
So what do you think? Should Metal Mulisha throw in a FRINGE Purse for next season or should I just keep lusting after the dream?

Some art gurus will say inspiration can be taken from merely walking outside, whether this is true for you or not there are definitely other (more fun) ways to do it! You can draw inspiration from literally anywhere. What makes you different from the next person is how you apply it. We all gather our own inspiration a number of different ways.
When researching & “being inspired” for the next Metal Mulisha season we have a list of very important to-do’s! We pillage magazine racks, rock out at concerts, visit trade shows, check out tattoos, see the latest TV shows & movies, and go shopping in LA. I can honestly say I love every last one of those things, wouldn’t you!?
Meet the Metal Mulisha Girls design team! We decided to make them bloggers since us guys have no idea about girls fashion and all that junk you ladies love. So if you want to read about all the latest Mulisha Maidens clothing designs, make up stuff, hot dudes, fringe, and gossip stuff from Sophia, Brenna and Victoria (not sure if that’s what it will be, but that’s what you girls like, right?), then right here on the Metal Mulisha Maidens Blog is where you want to be, and keep checking back. Oh yeah, and they have their own Metal Mulisha Maidens Facebook Page, so go like it!
Meet Victoria: I hail from a coastal town in Texas. Yep, TX has a coast…and yep, I have a ‘lil bit of that annoying Texas pride.
I have an unhealthy obsession with my cat, Betty Jewel…better known as BJ.
I don’t have any tattoos, too much of a commitment. Piercings, not as scary.
Some know me as a ‘cougar in training’.
I have been in a bar fight…in Vegas…hair extensions and all. Jerry Springer purchased the hotel footage.
I have also adorned a black eye but that is a story for another time.
Ps- I didn’t start it y’all!
Meet Brenna: Ice coffee is my best friend.
my closet looks like something shiny and something leopard mated and had millions of babies.
I dig guys in tight pants. HOLLA
I have no idea what I’m doing with my life, yet I’m exactly where I dreamed I’d be.
If I could meet anyone IN THE WORLD hands down it would be Alexander McQueen – RIP<3
Meet Sohpia: Hello Maidens!!!!! I am Sophia one of the junior’s designers for the Mulisha and I’m very happy to be starting this blog so we can keep in contact with you guys and let you know what’s going on in the Mulisha Maidens world. I just wanted to give you guys a little insight on me and let you guys into my head a little bit and see what makes me, me!
I’ve worked for the Mulisha for 3 ½” years and have loved every moment of it. Funny but I am the most tattooed girl in the office, which is crazy right! If I could have been born in anytime period it would be the 80’s big hair metal and leather two of my favorite things.
I’m the biggest girly-girly at heart that secretly loves pink and has a horrible addiction to SHOES! I’ll take a pair of Christian Louboutin any day but we keep that on the hush hush…
I know I wanted to be a designer when I saw a Vivienne Westwood fashion show when I was three…yes I still remember it, and ever since then I knew I had to be in fashion. My walk in closet is my favorite room in my house and Los Angeles is the city that has my heart…I even named my dog after it cause I love it so much!
Everyone in the office thinks is funny how much I love Star Wars! Yes I said Star Wars I have posters, toys and my favorite Stormtropper key chain that I carry everywhere for good luck you know!
Well that’s a little insight on me and I hope you guys love and enjoy what were going to be doing for all you guys out there. Love you guys and Big ups to the Mulisha Maidens…we’re here to rule the world!
It’s official, the General Brian Deegan signed with Ford Racing! He will be running the Ford Raptor in the Lucas Oil Off Road Series Pro 2 class, and the Pro Lite Class. Deegan will also drive the Ford Rockstar Metal Mulisha Fiesta in select Global RallyCross Championship events, as well as at the X Games. Congrats Deegs!
Here’s the full PR:
DEARBORN, Mich. – April 12, 2011 – At the age of 17, Brian Deegan left his home in Omaha and headed for Southern California with only the F-150 he drove, a credit card and his dirt bike, dreaming of becoming the next big thing in Motocross. That 1989 Ford truck carried him and his dreams halfway across the country and to an entirely new life – the one he pictured growing up in the heartland. In the 17 years since Deegan has become a recognized innovator of FMX, one of the most decorated X Games athletes and an icon in action sports. He’s not done yet. Deegan is now looking to take that same competitive fire to four-wheel motorsports and again looks to Ford to help him get there.
Deegan’s partnership with Ford Racing announced today will allow him to race Fords in multiple action motorsports platforms, including the Ford Raptor in the Lucas Oil Off Road Series, Global RallyCross Championship and at X Games 17 in Los Angeles.
“I’m a Ford guy – always have been – and I’m really excited about working together. In order to be successful as a racer I need to be with the best,” Deegan said. “When you think of racing, especially off-road truck, Ford has dominated, and there is nothing I’d rather be behind the wheel of.”
Deegan, who earned the nickname “The General” after founding the famed Metal Mulisha dirt bike team, has established himself as one of action sports’ cultural icons. Credited as the creator of FMX and an action sports pioneer, Deegan parlayed that success into becoming an influential cultural and lifestyle voice through the Metal Mulisha line of clothing, apparel and lifestyle products. Deegan has been nominated for an ESPY Award, has been recognized as one of the Top 100 Athletes of Action Sports and is a 12-time X Game medalist.
A rising star in the Lucas Oil Off Road Series racing a Ford F-150 truck, Deegan won the Championship in 2009 and was named Lucas Oil Driver of the Year in 2010. Accustomed to the spotlight at X Games, Deegan has tackled the rally competition in a Ford Fiesta the last two years. In 2010 he won a pair of silver medals at the LA Coliseum.
“One thing I am used to is riding dirt bikes,” Deegan said. “I grew up doing it ever since I was eight years old and I feel comfortable there. I went out and won a lot of medals and (then) won at supercross.”
“However there comes a time in your life where you’re like ‘have I done it all, or do I want to take on the next chapter?’ and I saw four-wheels as the next chapter. When the opportunity came through Rockstar and Ford to race rally car at X Games , I was like ‘It sounds pretty cool and I am going to go for it.’ For an athlete who comes from the top of the game to start at the bottom again, it isn’t easy. You have to kill your ego and your confidence is back to where you have to start over and try to learn this as fast as possible. I feel like my technique from dirt bikes and learning how to be the best at a sport has carried over.”
As part of the agreement, Deegan will begin running in the Global RallyCross Championship as his Lucas Oil schedule allows. He was in attendance at the GRC kickoff at Irwindale Speedway in late March as a spectator and will be in the Ford Fiesta the Global RallyCross Championship event at Pikes Peak International Raceway and again at X Games.
“I would like the welcome ‘The General” to Ford,” said Jamie Allison, director, Ford North America Motorsports. “Brian Deegan is a true pioneer in action sports who has won at the highest level in everything he has competed in be it motocross, surpercross, freestyle motocross and short course trucks. Brian is a competitor and brings versatility to our action sports program not only with his racing background but with the Metal Mulisha team of riders and their fan outreach opportunities.”
“Racing’s been in my blood since I was a little kid and joining forces with Ford is something that I have always dreamed of,” Deegan said. “I look forward to winning more championships with them.”
If you’re out in the AZ, you better be planning to go out to Tuscon Raceway Park and watch Agee, Hagy and Fitzpatrick do their thing on the ramp-to-ramp setup, followed by them racing late model NASCARs in a full carnage race! It’s gunna be sick!
Congrats to Metal Mulisha fighters Nick Diaz and Gilbert Melendez on both kicking ass at the Strikeforce event in San Diego tonight, both with 1st round wins while defending their championships!
Tonight is the first night of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Tournament, and Metal Mulisha Fighter Shane Del Rosario is ready to make the most of this opportunity. Make sure you tune into Showtime tonight at 7pm (PST) to catch Shane kicking some ass!
Shane will be putting his undefeated record of 10-0 on the line against Lavar Johnson (15-3) in the bout to decide the first alternate in the tournament that includes Former UFC Champions Josh Barnett and Andrei Arlovski, #1 ranked Fedor Emelianenko, Strikeforce Champion Alistair Overeem, and the man who finally beat Fedor, Fabricio Werdum. Both Shane and Lavar are known for their stand up prowess and will be looking to finish the fight with a knock out.
“We’ll come out standing and banging, no doubt,” said Del Rosario. “Where it goes from there, we’ll see.” Another fact of note, that make it all the more believable that Shane belongs in this tournament, is the number of fights he has finished in the first round. Nine out of ten of his wins have come in the first five minutes. “All those guys you look up to, like Fedor and Alistair Overeem, those are the guys you aspire to be,” said Del Rosario. “You get into this sport to have the opportunity to prove you belong and fight the best. If I get the call, I’ll be ready.”
I’m sure a lot of you have heard about the horrible tragedy at the MDR California 200 night race. 8 killed and 12 injured when a race truck went out of control into the crowd. This hits close to home for us and our fans, and we know all too well it sometimes comes with the territory in dirt bikes, off-road and racing, but it doesn’t lessen the pain when something like this happens. The good thing about our community is that we rally and help those in need. Now is that time.
Our friends at TORR sent us this link (click the banner) where you can donate to support the victims. Get on there and do what you can. Also, for those of you local to so cal, TORR is doing their radio show from The Stampede in Temecula this Wednesday night, August 18, from 5pm-close, where they will be holding a lot of fund raising efforts. Ox, Taka, Potter and some of the other Metal Mulisha riders will be there, too, so check it out.
X Games 16 wrapped up on Sunday in true Mulisha style with the Speed & Style event, ghost rides and all! Even though Travis Pastrana took Gold, and Nate Adams Silver, Twitch, Ronnie Faisst and Brian Deegan stole the show. The Mulisha vs. Mulisha racing was by far the most exciting of the night, and possibly of the whole X Games!
After the timed qualifying round, the head-to-head match ups were next. Twitch qualified 3rd and Deegan 6th. Which meant Twitch vs. Deegan in the head-to-head quarter finals! Twitch beat the General straight up, but the are no hard feelings and the two finished it off with big side-by-side whips. Twitch moved onto the semi final vs. Nate Adams.
Ronnie Faisst beat Kevin Johnson in his match up, thanks to a much higher style score, taking him to the semi final vs. Pastrana. In the semi Pastrana was hauling ass and was able to beat Faisst to move to the finals.
Twitch was matched up against Adams in the semi. This was set to be a solid match up as Twitch and Adams were both really fast and both have huge tricks. But Twitch got hung up on the starting gate and was behind from the start. He was able to make up some ground on Adams while throwing a big no handed flip for style. Then the whoops happened. Twitch was taking the far left line and got a little too far left in to the soft dirt and swapped out. Twitch was out of the finals, but there was still a Bronze medal up for grabs…another MM vs. MM battle! Twitch vs. Faisst!
This is where things got crazy! In the first carpeted corner, Twitch slid out!Faisst was way out front and it looked like he was cruising to an easy win for Bronze. But then the whoops happened…again! Faisst clicked 3rd gear going into the whoops, but he stalled his 450!!!! Twitch passed him through the whoops and went on to take the checkered flag and ghost ride his bike off the landing for the Bronze medal.
Then, out of nowhere, Deegan came running out to let them know that they had only finished 3 laps and the race wasn’t over! The flag guy messed up and waved the checkers too early. Because of all the confusion, the mistake by the flagger, the fact that Twitch’s bike was weeded and he couldn’t race anymore, the X Games people decided to give both Twitch & Faisst Bronze medals!
Congrats to all on a good show and bringing home some more X Games hardware!
In case you lost count, that’s a total of 10 X Games medals this year for the Metal Mulisha! Domination!
1, 2, 3…that is what place Metal Mulisha riders got in X Games Best Trick! That’s right, a Metal Mulisha sweep of the podium! An international sweep to boot, with 2 Ausies and a our boy Taka from Japan.
The man of the night was by far Cam Sinclair. Cam came out and stomped the double backflip, the same trick that almost ended his riding career about 1 year ago in Spain. X Games Gold is a HUGE accomplishment by itself, but it was even more impressive because of what Cam overcame in such a short time to get to where he is now. We’re proud of you bud! You earned it! Congrats!
Robbie Maddison stepped up his already sick body varial to break a tie for 2nd with Taka by keeping it old school 1999 style and adding in a side saddle lander. That did the job and earned Maddo sole possession of the Silver medal. Yet another story of bouncing back…Maddo crashed on the body varial, injuring his wrist, just the day before in the FMX semi finals. He is gnarly. Congrats Maddo!
Taka Higashino is pretty much the only guy I can think of consistently pulling the double grab backflip right now. He had it in his FMX run, and threw it down in his first run of Best Trick. In his second run, Taka stepped it up even more with a HUGE double grab indian air flip to nail down the Bronze medal.
That’s what went down. 1, 2, 3…Gold, Silver, Bronze. Goodnight.
