Saddle up cowboys and girls, this was a hot one!

Red Bull X Fighters returned to the historic Fort Worth Stockyards. Twitch, Maddo, Sincs, and Ox were invited to do battle against a stacked field of international riders on a video game-style course. To shake things up just a little bit, Texas was suffering from a national heat advisory. It didn’t drop below 105 degrees during the day!

Cam Sinclair brought the double flip and stomped it an astonishing 3 times throughout the event. Cam double flipped himself into history as the first rider to ever land the trick in a FMX run. He was also the top finishing MM troop, coming in 3rd. Can someone get this guy a X Games FMX invite?!

Twitch got screwed in his semi-final match-up against Rebeaud. Twitch was killing it on the technical course that suited his style perfectly. He broke out his entire arsenal of tricks, including a massive seat grab flip over the 120-footer, as well as hitting a unique transfer line. The judges must have been smoking crack during his run, because Rebeaud got the pass to the finals.

Maddo is one tough SOB. During his quarter-final run, his shoulder dislocated. Even though all hopes of advancing to the next round were out the window, Maddo popped his shoulder back in and finished his run after time. He is MAD!

Ox made his first X Fighters appearance in Fort Worth. The gentle giant had a run packed with huge seat grab and indy flips over the dirt hits. He had a solid run, but came up just short of advancing to the quarter-finals.

We kicked some ass and don't give a damn about the names!

Shane “Speedo Man” Trittler came up with the idea to combine FMX and circus acts to raise money for charity in Santa Clarita, CA. Now don’t get this confused with that little show you see on MTV…it’s completely different. Team Mulisha, featuring Potter, Fitz, and Scummy took on Team Death Riders, consisting of some other guys, in the first ever Iron Circus.

Even though the event had some of the best riders in the world, they had never competed in an event like this before. The teams went head to head in three different challenges where they earned points to determine the winning team. Up first was a capture the flag race. A rider from each team raced head to head in an oval while collecting flags. The first rider to cross the finish with all his flags won. Unfortunately, the other team collected the most points, but that is where that bull shit would stop.

In the second discipline, the teams had to nose wheelie and land on a bike stand. The further the nose wheelie, the more points you received. Scummy cleaned house in this event. He was the only rider to nose wheelie the entire distance and land on the stand. The other team didn’t even come close!

For the final challenge, everyone’s front fender was fitted with a long pole that was used to collect rings in a wheelie contest. This put the nail in the coffin for the other team. They must have been dreaming if they thought they could take down Potter in a wheelie contest! Potter cleaned up, collecting 3 out of 4 rings in both of his attempts. Fitz put in a damn good effort as well.

Team Mulisha crushed the other guys and took home the win at the first Iron Circus. Afterward, both teams put on a demo for the fans. Speaking of the fans, the turn out was amazing! It’s not very often events are held in that area, so everyone was super pumped to have the Mulisha in town!

The Outdoor Nationals are underway and the Mulisha is on the podium with Josh Grant!

The 2009 Outdoor Motocross Nationals kicked off at Glen Helen over the weekend. Metal Mulisha backed JGR Racing rider Josh Grant came out swinging in his outdoor 450 class rookie debut. Josh was one of the fastest riders in timed qualifying and carried that momentum into the first moto.

In moto 1, Grant started in fourth and quickly worked his way into second place behind Mike Alessi. A mistake by Alessi allowed JG to take over the lead. Unfortunately, the massive hills caused his brakes to overheat, leaving him with very little stopping power. He would finish second in the first moto.

The track was extremely rough for moto 2. Grant found himself battling with Chad Reed for the third spot for the majority of the moto. Reed made his way around Grant, but Grant’s 2-4 finish was good enough for third overall. Not a bad way to start the outdoor season. Way to go Josh!

I am Cornholio! I need TP for my bunghole!

This morning at approximately 3am PST, our house was attacked by friendly fire. It seems as if Fitz thought it would be funny to unload cases of toilet paper on our house and cars. The front door was tied shut with our garden hose and trash was dumped all over our yard. No one was spared in the attack. Potter, his girlfriend, Garland, our roommate Brian, myself all felt the wrath of Fitz and his accomplices.

Just when we thought we saw it all, we noticed that the backyard was hit as well. I guess the front yard wasn’t enough Fitz, so he dumped all our yard waste everywhere and added a nice coating of TP.

This was all completely random and out of no where. Nothing quite like being woken up at 6am to see your house covered in TP and trash. It took almost 2 hours to clean up all the shit! Don’t think this is over. Things have only just begun. Retaliation plans have already begun and it isn’t going to be pretty. Pay back is a bitch Jimmy. IT’S ON!!!!
What would your plan for retaliation be?

Get ready to witness the greatest freeriding location known to man!

When Mike Mason invited all the boys to go have some fun in Caineville, UT, we jumped on the opportunity. It isn’t very often you get to load up all of your buddies in motor homes to embark on a freeride get away. Sure, Ocotillo is cool, but it doesn’t have shit on Caineville. The place is absolutely ridiculous with endless terrain. It looks like you are on another planet! With all the contests and demos, it is easy to forget why we all got involved in this industry…our love for riding! It was great to get away from the scene and have some fun riding with no rules or schedules.

Twitch, Potter, Garland, Sani, Nate Adams, Logan Darien, Andy Bakken and I loaded up in 2 RV’s this past Monday and charged it to UT from Temecula. The trip took us about 12 hours total. Everyone couldn’t wait to ride, so we all geared up and cruised around as soon as we got there that night. The following morning we met up with the Nevada guys and put in an all day session. From trail riding to 4th gear pinned jumps, the guys did it all. Not one time during the day would you find everyone at the camp site. There was always a group out riding until dark.

I found myself riding more than I did shooting photos. It was a blast to be on the bike with everyone. Sure, I get to shoot photos of them all the time, but I never really have the chance to go ride with the guys. You know it is bad when riders you have known for 10 years say they didn’t know you rode! I ended up riding more than Potter and Twitch, and still found time to snap a few pics. What now punks!? I sure as hell didn’t huck myself 100+ feet, but I put in a lot more seat time! In Twitch’s defense, his bike was running like shit, but I think it was an excuse because he didn’t want me to show him up. HAHA.

Mother nature was a real bitch the last day of our trip by giving us hurricane winds. The guys have all had to deal with windy conditions before, but they have never ridden in the conditions Caineville offered up. When you have the opportunity to ride in such a place, a little wind isn’t going to stop you. Everyone toughed it out and put in another solid day of riding. The big jumps were limited, but we had a blast trail riding.

I didn’t let the wind stop me from crushing the sunset shots with Garland. Those were by far the hardest photos I have ever taken. The shot wasn’t difficult, but the conditions were. Nothing like setting up strobes on a razor back in the middle of a wind/dust storm. The winds were so bad that it was a constant battle to keep my light and myself from being blown over while picking sand out of my eyes. It would have been nice to have an assistant!

The trip was a great success. Everyone had a killer time riding and hanging out. Hopefully we can turn this into an annual trip. There is nothing like being able to ride your dirt bike on video game style terrain without anyone being able to get a hold of you. If you ever have the chance to ride in Caineville, DO IT!

Check out the Caineville Road Trip Photo Gallery for more of the goods!

If you happened to catch the Speed Channel broadcast of the St. Louis Supercross, you saw how insane the track was. Pastrana was the celebrity course designer and it showed…the track looked like one from MX Unleashed! Josh Grant killed it all day long. He was a 3rd fastest in timed qualifying and placed 3rd in his heat. Josh grabbed the holeshot in the main event and took off. The only riders to pass him were Reed and Stewart. Congratulations Josh on your 3rd place finish in St. Louis!

Twitch decided to get a new tattoo last week. This time he took things to a whole new level. Can you spot his new tat?
Did you spot it? He got a cross tattooed below his right eye and it looks sick! I am pretty sure by now his face was the only part of his body left without a tattoo, so why not take advantage of the empty space. Not like he needs to land an office job! Nice new ink, Twitch!
