Metal Mulisha’s Cooper Webb took on the 2012 Monster Energy Cup at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas taking the overall win bringing home the Amateur All-Star Title! Cooper already holds over 80 national titles and continues to rise to the top of his game. We caught up with Cooper for a Monster Energy Cup Recap.
MM: What’s going on Webb! How was your time in Vegas for the Monster Energy Cup?
WEBB: It was a really cool event out there at Sam Boyd Stadium. The layout was really built up like a Supercross track and they added that split start which was cool and that joker lane. We didn’t hit the joker lane in my class but it definitely made things a little tricky for the bigger guys.
MM: So how was is coming out from last year taking 2nd and taking the Cup this year?
WEBB: Yeah last year I came in 2nd and was really excited for that and this year I really wanted to get that win. I finished 2 – 3 out here, I had to get up there and stay up front. I hit this hay bale but managed to pull threw and finish it off for the win. It feels awesome to be out ahead of all the best riders in this class.
MM: You sneak into any casinos or clubs?
WEBB: Haha no I wish! I was so tired… I was ready to sleep on the last lap. I just went to bed.
MM: What are your plans for 2013?
WEBB: I will be starting things off on the Lites bike for the Star Racing team. Really excited about that. I am training really hard for Hangtown and to make the best for outdoors. I have been working a lot with my coach and training to get prepared and I can’t wait.
