Last weekend was busy for the Metal Mulisha! The Star-Valli Rockstar Yamaha Metal Mulisha team prepped the bikes for the 2012 Monster Energy Supercross held at Atlanta’s, Georgia Dome. Check out the video below for the full track layout.
Two weeks ago during the Supercross Lite’s event held in Texas, Kyle Cunningham was looking toward a promising night of racing, running solid times and making clean passes. Unfortunately his night ended early after crashing in the first turn of the main event. Cunningham is back in the game and has been looking strong out on the track ready to take on a night of Supercross Lites racing. Check out Cunningham in this GOPRO video as he attempts to find the fastest line at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta during qualifying at the 8th round of the 2012 Monster Energy Supercross.
Cunningham finished up qualifying in 5th place and during his Heat race Kyle went to work, moving his way up to the front, and placing his number on the pole with an impressive 3rd place finish! In the main event, Cunningham pushed hard into the battle still with his injured wrist finishing off with a well deserved 7th place finish.
“The track was fun, I just wish I was 100 percent healthy. Things were going really good until I crashed in last week’s main, and then my wrist started hurting so I had to do what was best to finish the race. Now I’m looking forward to St. Louis. It’s been awhile since I’ve been there and the track is pretty fun.” – Kyle Cunningham.
In the Supercross Class, Star Valli Yamaha’s Bobby Kiniry continues to sub for injured Ryan Morais.
Kyle Partridge and Kiniry had a battle toward the finish line, dicing in mid-air for the lead as Kiniry finished up the LCQ in 2nd place and finished the night taking 14th in the main event. “Luckily I’ve been pretty good at those LCQ’s lately. I got myself into the main and I rode 20 solid laps. I came from last place and put in some consistent lap times and got up to 14th. I was catching that group in front of me but I ran out of time. My goal is to get up into the top 10 and I’m working toward that. I’ve always had good luck in St. Louis, so I’m looking forward to next weekend.” – Bobby Kiniry
Austin Stroupe remains out after breaking his collar bone at the recent Dallas Supercross, but hopes to return in several weeks. Teammate Nico Izzi has surgery on his injured wrist scheduled soon and hopes to race the Daytona Beach, FL, round in two weeks and Kyle Peters is still out due to injury, but hopes to be back next weekend. The next event for the team is the ninth round of the 2012 AMA/FIM Supercross Championship on Saturday, March 3rd, at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, MO.

Besides from Supercross, Todd Leduc fired-up the motor to the Metal Mulisha Monster Truck in Oakland, Saturday night for another night of Advanced Auto Parts Monster Jam. Leduc had the second fastest time in the qualifying round of the competition and moved his was into the semi-finals of racing, defeating Grave Digger and moved the Metal Mulisha Monster Truck into the finals! Leduc put on one hell of a show for all the fans, as they stood to their feet cheering for Leduc taking the win in the UTI Racing Championship by defeating Maximum Destruction taking the trophy to the M/M Compound! Nick Dunne and Julian Dusseau rolled to the floor during last weekends FMX Online contest in Sacramento, CA. Dusseau had the fans pumped, pulling off three flip tricks in a row including a huge big Indy Flip to post up a score of 92.5. On his second run Dusseau stepped-it-up, dropping 4 massive flip combinations in his run but he came out a little short with a 93.25.

With Julian to follow, Nick Dunne got the crowd screaming from start to finish with a text book KOD Flip, and Heel Clicker Flip promising Dunne to advanced into the finals. With the crowed roaring Dunne went for another big KOD Flip and a Flip Can-Can to Indian Air that brought down the house finishing his score of 94.0 claiming 1st place in Freestyle both nights & 1st place best whip trick along with Julian claiming 2nd place!
