With the 2011 Lucas Oil Offroad Racing Series season coming to a victorious end for the Metal Mulisha, there was just one race left on Sunday, the Lucas Oil Challenge Cup. Points aren’t on offer, but cash and bragging rights are and with this once-a-year Brian Deegan, Justin Bean Smith & Ryan Hagy where up for the last challenge and to make it up on the podium. The final race of the year would be the Pro 2 Unlimited vs. Pro 4 Unlimited cup race. The Pro 4’s and Pro 2’s will tangle up for $30,000 to the winner. $20,000 is on the line for the winner of the Pro Buggy vs. Pro Lite race. As the race kicked off Deegan sat behind Fortin but not for long! He fought his way threw the pack and on the final lap, Renezeder was moved to the back of the lead lap by officials for rough driving, which meant Deegan would take second and walk with $15,000! Congratulations for another solid victory along with his Pro 2 Championship and second consecutive Championship title in the Pro-Lite Class!
In the Pro Lite VS Pro Buggy race Deegan moved up to third and fourth on lap two, while Smith finally got by Currie and up to fifth. Teammates Deegan and Smith both got by Brandt on lap nine, with Smith then going inside of Deegan in turn three to move into third on lap ten Smith took the lead kept it from there, as he poured it on all the way to the $20,000 that awaited him at the finish line. Fortunately for Smith, his car survived, and his win capped a very successful first season in the Pro Buggy Unlimited ranks. Congrats Bean!

That wraps up the 2011 season of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series. You can read up on how Saturday’s Championship race went down by clicking here. The 2012 season isn’t far away, and will begin right back here at Firebird, with Rounds 1 and 2 on March 31 and April 1, 2012.
Only 3 months to wait! Guess I’ll have to just watch dvds until then.
Now, where’s that remote?
Thank you for the article. I’ve truly thought about it before but never desired to do anything about it. I’m sure because of my not-enough complete understanding. On a daily basis, however, I’m knowing more and more people getting frustrated because they think it is really complicated to understand. What really encouraged me again, however, ended up being your rationale that folks would like to discuss the thing once they see their particular friends commenting about the same thing. That is precisely how knowledge increases.
