Taka Higashino and Todd Potter both made it into the X Games Freestyle event as alternates and made the most of the opportunity. Potter has competed in every moto event at this X Games so far…crazy busy guy! Potter didn’t make it through the elimination round, but he rode solid with his usual smooth style, big ass tricks, and roosting it Mulisha style.

Taka was killing it! He made it through the elimination round no problem, second to Torres, and beating out Twitch and Sheehan for a spot in the finals versus Nate Adam, Adam Jones and Dany Torres. Taka was pulling his backflip 1 handed seat grab in his FMX run perfectly, along with his huge cordova flips, which are pretty much the sickest ones out of anyone in the sport. His sidesaddle take off to no footed nac/KOD indy thing was sick! Unfortunately Taka just missed getting a medal and finished in 4th. Either way, good riding Taka, congrats bud!

Check out the all the X Games FMX photos of Taka and Potter in our photo gallery, and of course the video is below. Speed & Style and Rally Racing tomorrow…

I didn’t expect the Dems to be able to do this thing clean given all of the equivocators and people watching their backs, their behinds and their bullshit…but I was terribly disappointed by Dorgan, Levin and Webb voting against Feingold’s anti-war bill and by Sherrod Brown sitting it out. Also, between now and September Cheney, et. al. will do everything in their power to somehow get us deeper in the muck and make it seem more difficult and/or risky to withdraw. Iran will figure into this play in a major way. Don’t underestimate just how willfully sinister and oblivious of consequences or moral responsibility these people are. They are desperate to maintain a major military presence and pick up chips from this war. “the Oprah politics of Obama” You really know how to hurt a guy. Actually, below the reassuring surface – which is a wonderful thing to behold and reflects the kind of leadership qualities that the country needs right now – there’s a guy who understands how Chicago’s underbelly works, who’s won the confidence of downstate Illinois small town denizens and farmers, who’s a terrific orator and who’s walked the walk among the dispossessed of the South Side. But if the worst that get’s floated about Obama is that his are “Oprah politics”, he might as well start measuring the curtains on Pennsylvania Ave. Obama’s going to downplay this, of necessity, but I think that Saul Alinsky and Rev. Jeremiah Wright are better keys to understanding Obama’s underlying political perspective than the dreaded Oprah.
