shane-del-rosario-300Tonight is the first night of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Tournament, and Metal Mulisha Fighter Shane Del Rosario is ready to make the most of this opportunity. Make sure you tune into Showtime tonight at 7pm (PST) to catch Shane kicking some ass!

Shane will be putting his undefeated record of 10-0 on the line against Lavar Johnson (15-3) in the bout to decide the first alternate in the tournament that includes Former UFC Champions Josh Barnett and Andrei Arlovski, #1 ranked Fedor Emelianenko, Strikeforce Champion Alistair Overeem, and the man who finally beat Fedor, Fabricio Werdum. Both Shane and Lavar are known for their stand up prowess and will be looking to finish the fight with a knock out.

“We’ll come out standing and banging, no doubt,” said Del Rosario. “Where it goes from there, we’ll see.” Another fact of note, that make it all the more believable that Shane belongs in this tournament, is the number of fights he has finished in the first round. Nine out of ten of his wins have come in the first five minutes. “All those guys you look up to, like Fedor and Alistair Overeem, those are the guys you aspire to be,” said Del Rosario. “You get into this sport to have the opportunity to prove you belong and fight the best. If I get the call, I’ll be ready.”

Good luck Shane!

It has been two years today as we lost a friend so close to our hearts, Mulisha Family member and a legend in the sport, Jeremy Lusk. Lusk Best Trick On this day two years ago, Lusk had an amazing 2008 season, in which Jeremy took home the Freestyle Gold & Best Trick Silver at X Games. Topping it off, Lusk landed the first ever double grab Heart Attack backflip. Lusk also won both Freestyle and Best Trick Gold at the X Games in Mexico. From X Games, Lusk finished third overall in FMX Freestyle on the 2008 Dew Tour, and earned a Bronze helmet at the Moto X World Championships.

Jeremy touched, motivated and impressed everyone in a unique way and he will always be missed and never forgotten. To celebrate in his honor, the 1st Annual Jeremy Lusk Memorial Ride Day is being held at Pala Raceway, CA today at 9:30am pacific time.

So we put up some sick photos that Tedesco took and we said F_it, might as well make a sick ass video with music from our most recent band Mainstream Scare! Check out Taka and Hill ripping it up at Jimmy Fitzpatrick’s compound!

Wes Agee

Taka, Wes and Hill have been teaming up and riding a lot together lately. The three have been making their rounds to all the FMX riding hot spots such as, the Mulisha Compound, Fitzland, and Faisst’s backyard. This has been paying off huge for them in the trick department.

Taka, photo: Chris Tedesco

Since they began riding together, Hill has quickly learned No-hander and Heel Clicker flips, and is already hard at work learning Super flips. Wes is feeling solid since returning from his knee surgery and has been stomping huge Indy, Cordova, and No-footed Can flips. Did we mention that he hasn’t even been cleared to ride yet?

photo: shane ruiz

Taka hasn’t let up a bit since the starting of the Nuclear Cowboyz tour, and has been riding and hitting the pit nearly everyday between tour stops working on his new trick the #$*&@… You didn’t really thing we were going to tell you what it is, did you? That is top secret classified information at this time.

For now, enjoy these recent photos of Taka, Wes and Hill going huge!
