Cam Sinclair has successfully landed the very trick that almost cost him his life nine months ago; the double backflip. Sinclair’s return to FMX has been arguably one of the most inspirational comeback stories in Australian motorsports. Whilst competing in Madrid, Spain last July, Sinclair under rotated a double backflip suffering multiple broken bones, head and internal injuries.
Doctors believed at best, Sinclair could return to riding a full year following his accident; however this only fueled the 26 year olds’ desire to make a full recovery.
Exactly 282 days later, whilst performing a part of the Crusty Demons ‘Beyond the Apocalypse’ Tour in Darwin, Sinclair achieved his goal and successfully landed one of the most dangerous stunts in sport. “Its just such a huge relief to land the double backflip again and leave Darwin in one piece. I’ve been working so hard to prove to myself that this was possible.
This is a feeling I will never forget.” Cam Sinclair said. Now, with the huge weight of landing his 27th double backflip off his shoulders Sinclair feels ready to focus on his ultimate dream, of obtaining an X Games medal. “The ultimate goal for me is to take the double flip to the X Games in LA this July. I have a few other tricks up my sleeve, I know if I can stay healthy and keep improving I can win a medal.” Sinclair said.

Today is the longest day and another ass kicking in the 2010 Rip To The Tip. At 275 miles the Rip Riders will snake from San Ignacio through the Baja countryside and to the Pacific Coast fishing villages including El Datil and more.
Jeff Kargola got taken out by a fellow Rip Rider on Day 4 and had to play it safe and rest up until the next stop for Day 5 route. The number of Rip Riders that have dropped from the full pull is up to 9 riders of the 30 Rip Riders who started this adventure. The key is how many will make it through today and then onto the final two days of the Rip Adventure? Wil Hahn continued his streak of podiums in Seattle this past weekend. The West Lites Supercross Series returned from an eight week break, while the series had shifted to the East Lites division. Hahn, who was third in points prior to Seattle, used the time off to prepare for the final West Lites rounds and the up coming Motocross Nationals.

Rain during the week created a very wet Seattle race track, and caused it to deteriorate at an alarming rate. Hahn’s training during the break paid off, giving him the edge to navigate his Red Bull/Troy Lee Designs/Metal Mulisha Honda to a second place finish on an extremely technically and rutted race track. Hahn’s second place finish was his fourth trip to the podium in seven races, and moved him into second for the Lites West Championship, ahead of Trey Canard.

With only one round left in the series, Hahn sits just nineteen points behind points leader, Jake Weimer. Be sure to watch the final West Lites round in Salt Lake City, UT on Speed May 2nd at 6pm EST, where Wil has a very good chance of taking home his first win of the season, and possibly the championship. Way to go, Wil.

Last week Jimmy Fitzpatrick hosted one of the biggest FMX riding sessions ever. All the guys had been away on tour, so there hasn’t been much time for everyone to get together and have a solid day of riding. What had seemed to be never ending April showers in Southern California, turned out to be a blessing, leaving Fitzland in prime condition for a good roosting.

Deegan, Twitch, Taka, Wes, Scummy, Garland, Danielson, and friends all joined Jimmy in an epic riding session. The guys started off tricking the massive 120-foot ramp to dirt jump. Jimmy killed it over the biggest ramp jump on his compound by pulling huge seat grab indy flips off of it.

After that, everyone headed to a dirt to dirt step up, where Deegan and Twitch were snapping upside-down whips. Looking for even bigger hang time, everyone shifted over to the biggest jump Fitzland has to offer, a 130-foot natural double that sends you over a valley. This is the massive dirt jump that Potter flipped not too long ago. Twitch and Maddo considered flipping it, but decided to save that for another day.

Twitch, Deegan, and Danielson, had to leave after the valley dirt jump, so Fitzpatrick, Wes, Taka, and Garland decided to end the day with a trick session on the 75-foot ramp jump. The guys went through their arsenal of tricks, throwing down huge backflip nacs, no handers, and seat grabs.

All the guys had a great time riding together again after a long time away on tour. It was the perfect way to get everyone back into competition mode, as X Games is approaching fast, where the Mulisha is certain to dominate once again.
