Mike Cinqmars was a friend the Mulisha and a true OG of Freestyle Motocross. He was always fun to go on tour with and a good guy. Cinq was know best in our eyes as the guy that was always stepping up to build and hit the biggest jumps first. It sucks to lose another FMX icon and friend. Our condolences go out the the Cinqmars family.

Man…I can’t believe this. Such sad news to hear. Cinq always had been a favorite rider of mine. Always seemed to be a down to earth guy. Someone that truly knew what riding a dirt bike was all about. He never got caught up in the tricks and glam, he just threw down big, and thats why I looked up to him. My condolences go out to Cinqs family and friends. Never be forgotten.

I wrench on bikes for cash at night. I use to have an old 13in tv/vcr combo sitting on the bench. I would put in Fox Greatest Hits and let it play. It would auto rewind at the end and play again. I was usually out there for a while so I would here his segment at the end over and over. He was the guy who got me into the “freestyle” scene. I remember seeing him jump his house on MTV for the first time. He seemed like a chill guy that would be fun to be around. He said that he liked being on videos because they played in peoples homes forever. I saw him on M80 and you could see he was having a hard time. Some people get down and can’t seem to get back up again. It’s hard to go from being a rockstar to a regular guy. He will always be remembered. Make sure you watch Larry Linkogles movie, whether you like him or not. It will give some insight into the sport from the early days.
This might sound a little stupid but, he also is the guy who got me wearing Etnies. I liked the red shirt at the end of the Fox movie and went out and bought that same shirt and some black shoes. I still wear Etnies to this day. They’re damn comfortable.
Man its really a great loss to lose a Metal Mulisha Solider.

When freestyle 1st come about in 99, there was 1 dude on the video “airstyle’ that had the killer style and was basically out 2 kill the sport from word go! i followed cinq all threw his ridin time by buyin all the vids n dvd’s, i even bought the same CR250 he rode back then n all the same gear! As a teen u always look up to certain ppl, cinq started it 4 me i learnt all the tricks he done just cuz he was such an awesome rider! I’m an aussie guy n i heard bout cinq through a mate that e passed.. Times like these make u realise wot lifes about, that even the best dont survive!! Mike Cinqmars u hold a place in my heart, all the memories of watchin u ride and followin ur life throught all of ur time, all the wow’s of ur skills…. CINQ rest in peace its a shame uve gone n i dont no wot else 2 say! Memories r 4 eva dawg!
I loved at the end of the one terrafirma video when they put that clip of cinq and his mom arguing about if it was windy or not. It was so funny! just from that clip they seemed like such a cool family. so sad, sorry about your loss.
Just heard of Cinqs passing…very sad news!!!!!….he was one of the true Freeriding guys in the motox world..A plesure to watch him ride..thoughts are with his family and friends…viva la mulisha
