It is with great sadness that we report our beloved Jeremy Lusk passed away at approximately 11:03PM PST this evening due to complications from the crash sustained Saturday evening in Costa Rica. In his final moments Jeremy was surrounded by many loved ones, including his Mother and Father, Chuck and Gina Lusk, his wonderful wife Lauren, and many of his Mulisha Family.
Please keep Jeremy and his family in your thoughts and prayers. All the warm thoughts, comments and support are comforting in these times. We’ll miss you brother.

I was there when it happened, im a costarican, right before he started his jumps he was really happy making all the people scream with him, he had 2 minutes to do the jumps but he started with 1:40 because a bit of confusion… the last 2 jumps before he crashed he had problems landing, that was because the wind in those 1:40 minutes was really really strong… In his last jump the wind was excesive… For all of you that really knew him, and his family and friends.. you’ll be in our prayers, a lot of people prayed for him here in Costa Rica..

Todos aqui en Costa Rica estabamos orando por su recuperacion sin embargo el Seor dispuso otra cosa. Estoy serguro que Jeremy esta en un lugar mejor donde ya no hay ni sufrimiento ni llanto ni dolor. I met lusk at the 2008 dew tour, he gave my little bothers best friend his goggles, when i heard this i was speachless, i didnt beleive it. the guy was a role model to many and will be greatly missed in salt lake and all around to world. he will be in my thoughts and prayers as well as his wife, parents, and family.

RIP Jeremy; the MX comminuty has lost a hell of a rider way before his time. That trick, his last, was SICK.
It’s a sad sad day in the Freestyle world today as we mourn the death of Jeremy… and it’s almost too hard to believe that he’s actually gone from the Mulisha family, and to think about the fact that we won’t be blessed with his presence on and off of the freestyle course. (When he wasn’t soaring over it, pulling some knarly trick that only he had the balls and brute strength to do…) Tragedies like this always hit the FMX family very close to home, and we will definately be thinking about him and his family in the following days, as well as pondering our own mortality as we ride. But we’ll always have the consolation of looking back on the countless memories and events that Lusk rode in, and how he inspired us all to push our riding to a higher level. Rest in Peace Jeremy, and thank you for what you’ve brought to the sport, and to all those you’ve touched along the way. Lost, but never forgotten, you inspire us even in your death.

I did not know about him, I was watching the show and they said thats the guy known as “pitbull”, must be great i though, and now im pretty sure he was the best. We do pray for his family and friends. We are really sorry guys for real. Unfortunatly he died here in Costa Rica, please dont think we are bad people, we are really sorry with you all. That was God´s will who did not want him to suffer laying on a bed for the rest of his life.

I just felt compelled to add this. Since Jeremy’s death I heard the same comment about “thats what happens in a crazy sport like that” or something similar.
Truth to be told Jeremy is the first pro FMX rider to die. They’re have been more pro golfers die than FMX riders. And most people think that FMX riders are just going out there and doing crazy stuff. Thats true to a point but it takes lots of practice and safety to pull off FMX tricks. Safety is big in FMX otherwise there would be alot more of these blogs.
You guys are truley amazing in the amount of work and safety that you put into these shows.

as a huge fan of the METAL MULISHA i am sad to see a member pay his life for our (the fans) entertainment. What a short but memorable life…it’s really a sad day in EXTREME SPORTS. Motocross is the definition of what the X-GAMES is all about…Go Hard or Go Home and that is the motto that JEREMY LUSK lived by. Unfortunately he gave his life for this and we should remember him forever for the athlete he was and will always be.

However I do snowboard, and if it wasn’t said yet ill be the first to say that I feel the entire extreme sports industry was hit with this tragic/saddened news and I’m very sorry that you guys lost an amazing friend/brother/husband and great rider who you could see loved dirtbiking. The Great thing about being A Child of GOD and believing in Jesus is that this life is only the begining. If you except Jesus you live forever. Although Jeremy only lived a short life he had a hell of a ride. I have rode my whole life and been busted up real bad, no one will know. But with jeremy everyone knows how talented he was. And he was.
