Ocotillo Wells RainWell, we got some rain in so-cal this weekend in the first time in what feels like years! So we took full advantage of the wet dirt and went riding the hills! Someone had the bright idea to go ride Ocotillo Wells on Saturday (Ox), the day after the big rain. Everyone know that if it’s cloudy and raining by the coast then it’s windy as hell in Ocotillo. Still, that didn’t stop Ox and Trigger from rallying at 4AM on Saturday to head out to the desert.

As expected we pulled up to chocolate cake dirt off Pole Line Road, probably the best ever, but with 40+ mph winds! It made for one of the best Ocotillo trail rides-o-death, but not so good for jumping. The ride back to camp with sand blasting your face wasn’t so cool, so we called it a day and headed home.

Sweet Blades! On Sunday Ox was MIA, but Trigger was still motivated and ready for a Beaumont session on his Service Honda 500. Derek Garland met us out there and we went on a couple solid hill climb sessions, but again, not much jumping as it was a little too wet. All-in-all a sick weekend of riding wet dirt for a change! Here’s some photos…

Who needs a stand when you can bury you bike in mud?
Trigger Gumm
Goggles were mandatory even off the bike.
Jeff Kargola Truck Stuck
Ox really wanted to try out the 4X4 in his new Super Duty so he got stuck…too bad the 4X4 wasn’t enough to get her out!
Ox Truck pulled out
Trigger’s truck pulled it out no problem.
Rainbow
Don’t ask why, but Ox stopped in the middle of the highway to take this picture…I hear he also likes butterflies, Panda Bears and long walks on the beach!
