Metal Mulisha’s Rob Adelberg and Truman Carroll remember how pumped they were as kids when a celebrity or sports icon stopped by school to say hello. Yesterday in their hometown of Wagga Wagga, Australia both Rob and Truman revisited the past , and walked the grounds of a local elementary school campus to sit down with all the students.

M/M: Tell us a little bit about your visit with the kids?

Adelberg: Honestly it was awesome. Myself and Truman walked into a room full of kids ready to see what we had to say. They were all around the age of 11… 12 I think. It really brought me back to what it was like for me as a kid having someone come visit and say hello. I’m sure you know the feeling. All these kids were so excited you could feel their energy.

M/M: Defiantly! So what did you both talk about?

Truman: We started it off talking about some of our goals in life we have accomplished and what we continue to accomplish. Recently myself coming off Nitro Circus was a accomplishment I have dreamed of doing and can’t wait for the next goal to conquer.

Adelberg: The biggest objective for Truman and myself was to explain to them the importance of school and education. We both went into detail from the business aspect of our careers and what it takes to be successful off the bike. Also we discussed the mathematical equations of riding a dirt bike. Anything you do on a bike from going out there doing these big crazy tricks with speed and distance all at stake and a bunch of other examples.

M/M: Any kids in the class ride bikes at all?

Adelberg: There were a couple kids in the class that ride. They where super pumped to have us in there for tips and told us all about their dirt jumps they’re building. Totally brought back memories.

Truman: Rob and I showed the kids a few clips from stuff we have done. After that the questions rolled it and the room went from a silence to a non stop side conversation.

M/M: Haha what were some of the questions?

Truman: Lots of stuff about have we been hurt before. We gave them a little run down on our list of injuries. Rob went into detail along with myself about the risk but also never to give up. That’s what life is all about to take all your goals and dreams and do everything you can to make it happen.

M/M: I bet these kids were really pumped after all the time you guys spent with them.

Adelberg: For sure they where. Rob and I sat down with them all and signed a bunch of posters, handed out stickers and got to meet and greet with them all. It was a great feeling seeing all the smiles on their faces.

M/M: So what’s going on next for the both of you?

Adelberg: So much man. Right now my big focus is getting ready for X Games Germany! I really want to step it up and have been training super hard. Been working on a really clean run with solid tricks for the judges and fans. Can’t wait.

Truman: As for myself I’ve just got off the Nitro Circus tour in Australia for last twelve weeks which was great! I’ve got more shows coming up world wide this year and really can’t wait to have another crack at X Fighters and bring some big moves.

vickibanner Welcome To The Team Vicki Golden

Yesterday we sat down with Vicki Golden to gain some insight on the newest member and first female athlete of the Metal Mulisha team.

metal mulisha vicki golden fmx Welcome To The Team Vicki Golden

The two time X Games gold medalist gave us a little taste of what it’s like to be a part of the Metal Mulisha and how it feels to ride with the most talented group of freestyle athletes. Check out what Vicki had to say below.

Mulisha Maidens: How did you get involved in motocross?

VG: I started riding when I was seven. My brother was into racing, and I looked up to him so much that I always had to do everything he did. That being said, when he started getting bikes and getting into racing, I had to get involved too. I bugged my parents all year for a bike, and that Christmas, I ended up getting a little Honda xr50. metal mulisha vicki golden childhood motocross 197x300 Welcome To The Team Vicki Golden
Mulisha Maidens: Did you get into racing right away?
VG: Yeah I did. After I got my bike, things just took off and I started riding and racing locally. There was a track near my house in San Diego that had a mini track for kids to race on, so I did a lot of racing on that, and then as I moved on bigger bikes, I began racing larger tracks.
Mulisha Maidens: What are your biggest racing accomplishments thus far?
VG: My first big accomplishment came in 2008 when I won my first amateur title at the Loretta Lynn’s Amateur National. After that, I earned the opportunity to ride for factory Geico Honda in 2009. That was my first year racing as a pro in the WMX, so getting that factory ride was a huge accomplishment for me. Another big accomplishment came in 2011 when I qualified for a main event in the Amsoil Arenacross series. Finally, I would have to say my two X Games Gold Medals.

Mulisha Maidens: How did you get involved with the Metal Mulisha?
VG: I was never really that involved in the freestyle aspect of the moto industry. Late in 2011, I met Matt Buyten, and he completely opened my eyes to the world of freestyle along with Ronnie Faisst. I started hanging out with him and quickly realized how awesome all of the freestyle guys are. All of that kind of carried over and I ended up meeting Link (Larry Linkogle), who got me involved with the Metal Mulisha.

Mulisha Maidens: So you are officially the first female athlete to be apart of the Metal Mulisha. How does it feel?

VG: It’s definitely interesting! I get along really well with everyone on the team. I’ve been riding and hanging out with the Mulisha guys for over a year now, so it’s an awesome feeling to officially be a part of the Mulisha. Link really stepped up huge for me and it was very uplifting to have someone of his statute want to support me and help me out. Things came together really well with the team, thanks to Link, and I’m thankful to have the Metal Mulisha’s support going into X Games this summer.

Mulisha Maidens: As a female, how do you fit into the Metal Mulisha lifestyle?

VG: Well I would definitely say that my riding style fits the Metal Mulisha pretty well. I’m not scared to hit the big jumps and I can man up and get it done just like the guys. In addition, I’ve always been one to speak the truth, whether it’s good or bad, which kind of ties in with the Metal Mulisha lifestyle.

Mulisha Maidens: Do you think that the Metal Mulisha should incorporate more female athletes in the future?

VG: I think that would be cool, but there are only a few girls who can ride a dirt bike at that level, so it may be difficult to add other female athletes to the team.

Forward Progress: Vicki Golden – More Motocross Videos

Mulisha Maidens: What’s next in the life of Vicki Golden?

VG: I actually just signed up to race Mammoth. I’m going to take my 450 up and race the Mammoth against the guys. After that, I’m going to come back home and continue practicing Supercross to get ready for X Games.

M/M Troop Mike Scott: A lot of fans would appreciate some feedback about Moto X Best Trick being removed from the X Games. I know I would.

Jacko: Yeah it sucks, Moto X Best Trick was man sport haha. I think in the future FMX runs will get shorter and shorter with a lot bigger tricks.

M/M Troop Jimmy Andrews: How hard is it to do a backflip? can you give me a bit of help to start doing flips?

M/M Troop Danica Done Drama: How do you deal with injuries, when it comes to riding?
Jacko: Injurys are the down side of any sport but it’s also what makes it real.
M/M Troop Cassie-Maree Sandron: Marry me? Lol.
Jacko: I dont believe in marriage it’s for people with trust issues.

M/M Troop Moneywhere Yourmouthis: Cali babes or Aussie babes? What is the difference?
Jacko: Cali babes say ‘like’ too much haha. It’s a double edge sword, depends what color shoes I’m wearing.

M/M Troop Wyatt Cole: How did you get introduced to FMX and did you ever think you were going to be a famous MX rider?

Jacko: I kind of just fell into it. I dont want to sound like a knob… but yes I thought I would be a famous rider. If you stick to what your goals are and follow your dreams and never back down life will take you into a direction of success.

M/M Troop Tate Wilson: What’s the best tip you have for a beginner?

Jacko: Have fun, never say never and Justin Beiber’s gay.

M/M Troop Rachel Schutt: What is your favorite munchie?

Jacko: I dont smoke weed.

M/M Troop Pat Meade: How do you bring the bike back fully in a whip? I’ve been havin troubles bringing her back before it lands.
RUIZ8449 copy 200x300 Fan Mail Friday With Jacko F#*ck!ng StrongJacko: Keep trying and you will work it out! Words cant explain the fundamentals of doing a whip. Find a jump. You’ll want it to be big enough so that you will have time to straighten it out. Make it at least a 23′ Jump. Practice turning the wheel in the Air so you get comfortable with it first. Get into 3rd or 4th gear (on a 125 2 Stroke or 250). As you approach the jump, go up at the opposite angle that you want to whip the bike. Stomp on the foot peg of the direction you want to whip.Lean the bike over and slide to the back of the seat. Start to turn towards the opposite direction. Lean when in the air. When you go to straighten up, you need to pull the bike up right and get hard on the gas.
Pull the back end in with your legs. Make sure sure that you land straight. Turn the front wheel or your handle bars the way you want to whip and kick your leg out to the side your whipping, when it gets side ways take your handle bars and turn them the opposite way they are turned and lean to the opposite side your bike is whipped so you land straight.

M/M Troop Josh Rambo Shipley: I just want yo say hi I. Have Ing a rough life but hi

Jacko: Hi there.

M/M Troop Taylor Gang: I got 40 ft gap, my bike is yz 125 what gear I have to when I jump on the ramp ?

Jacko: 2nd most likely man.

M/M Troop David Lisska: My friend thinks it is possible to do a Tail Whip on a dirt bike.. is it?

Jacko: Yeah if you had a gyro fork setup maybe.

M/M Troop Steve Schmidt: What’s proper technique for cutting eye holes in a McDonald’s bag?

Jacko: Easy, said and done: First get nude. Put the bags on each others heads and rip small eye holes in them. Then jump out of the closet and begin to swing the hammer.
